He won the race in 11 hours 45 min-
utes by pacing himself with a 12-hour
running sheet. Maj Donaldson had
begun running at the start
of a six-month deploy-
ment to Afghanistan in
October 2011 and contin-
ued training after return-
ing to Australia.

While 100km is probably more than
enough running for most people, this
40-year-old doesn't show any signs of

Maj Donaldson also plans to have a go
at running the 240km Coast to Kosciusko
in December next year.
Maj Andrew Donaldson started running in 2011 and
in just 12 months managed to build up to winning an
