TOGETHER with the US Air Force and the
East Timor Defence Force (F-FDTL), the
International Stabilisation Force (ISF) was
involved in the Exercise Pacific Angel humani-
tarian initiative last month.
Ex Pacific Angel is an ongoing regional
humanitarian engagement run by the US Pacific
Command to provide civic and military assis-
The ISF has been working closely with the
F-FDTL in recent times with projects that help
develop the trade skills of East Timorese engi-
neers and improve local infrastructure.
Special medical clinics supported by US Air
Force and ISF medical teams as part of the exer-
cise were set up in regional areas of East Timor
such as the Baucau district, .
ISF Commander Col Luke Foster said human-
itarian exercises such as Ex Pacific Angel dem-
onstrated the ISF's support of the people of East
Timor as the country continued to develop.
"The ISF has been supporting local security
forces to maintain a stable and secure environ-
ment at the invitation of the Government of East
Timor," Col Foster said.
"We also team up with our US friends and
colleagues in the East Timor Defence Force to
bring some added benefits to the country, includ-
ing engineering projects such as upgrades to local
